1) набор файлов, подпрограмм, процедур, объектных модулей, макросов и т. п., организованный особым образом, например в файле, имеющем специальный формат. Обычно тип библиотеки уточняется прилагательным, например: application library, class library, function library. Библиотеки могут поставляться вместе с ОС и системой программирования, а также создаваться программистами в ходе разработки приложения; кроме того, они могут приобретаться у третьих фирм (ISV) или быть в свободном доступе
2) большое хранилище дисков или картриджей, в котором может быть несколько работающих накопителей
3) помещение для физического хранения книг, лент, дисков и т. п.
